Country Manager USA

who will help us gain more attention and attract more users in the USA from our Berlin office.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Building and maintaining relationships with international journalists, bloggers and influencers, seeking installs in the USA
  • Planning and executing campaigns, pitches and projects with the whole communications team and for the US market
  • Reaching out to organisations (schools, companies, universities) trying to convince them to install Ecosia
  • Looking into (paid) marketing ideas and business partnerships to gain installs in the USA
  • Pitching and presenting Ecosia at events and conferences, attending and organizing events
  • Researching prizes and competitions relevant to Ecosia
  • Replying to press and partnership requests from the USA, possibly users' comments and tickets, helping to identify trends, process bugs and refine Communications tactics
  • Contributing to the longterm strategy and branding of Ecosia's communication with the outside world

What you bring:

  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Degree in communication, PR, marketing, journalism or a similar field
  • Strong knowledge of the media landscape and the new media
  • A good understanding of the USA as a market and experience working with partners based in the USA
  • You're based in Berlin but possibly already have business contacts or experience working in the USA and are willing to travel to the USA multiple times a year
  • Experience crafting creative campaigns to secure media interest
  • Ability to think and perform both tactically and strategically
  • Superior writing skills
  • Exceptional people skills and propensity for relationship building
  • ‘Can-do’ attitude and readiness to roll up your sleeves
  • Eagerness to learn new skills
  • Native-level English (other language skills are a bonus)
  • Passion for our mission and our core values
