Apply Now for the Humanity in Action Fellowship
Humanity in Action seeks emerging human rights leaders for intensive one month fellowship.
Humanity in Action Germany invites applications from students and recent graduates who are passionate about advancing human and minority rights, pluralism, and active citizenship. Intensive and demanding, the Humanity in Action Fellowships are testing grounds for thinking anew with academics, activists, artists, experts, and policymakers about complex issues of diversity in historical and contemporary terms. They focus, through educational seminars and site visits, on memory, identity, vulnerable populations and the unfulfilled goals of democratic societies. These are fully-funded programs that pave the way into an active alumni network with further professional, educational, and financial support.
Students, recent graduates and young professionals who are from or currently based in Germany. Applicants need to be open-minded, widely interested, willing to take over societal responsibility and committed to promoting human rights, pluralism, diversity and active citizenship. Please check the Eligibility Criteria for more detailed information about our eligibility criteria and selection process.
Obligations and Opportunities
The Humanity in Action Fellowships last one month, but their impact on the lives of Fellows and their communities lasts for many more. Humanity in Action has a very active alumni network and offers a range of educational, professional, and financial opportunities to its Senior Fellows.
Prior to the Fellowship, selected Fellows are required to engage with a selection of readings. During the Fellowship, full-time committment is expected from all the selected Fellows. After the Fellowship, our Fellows complete an Action Project in their own community or elsewhere. Please take a look at the Obligations and Opportunities section for more detailed information on what we ask for and what we offer.
